May 1941. Three young women join the war effort during the Yorkshire Blitz. Connie an ARP warden persuades her sister Lizzie to become an ambulance driver. Their friend Pamela is also keen to do her bit. As the women face a baptism of fire: the shock of night shifts during blackout bombing raids and the destruction of their previously orderly world can their fighting spirit stand up to the realities of modern warfare?
